Commentary on Aerial Espionage Against the DPRK

On May 29, an RC-135U reconnaissance aircraft belonging to the United States Air Force, after taking off from Japan, once again conducted an aerial espionage operation against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) near its southern border.

Other spy planes from the United States and the puppet air forces of the Republic of Korea, including the U-2S and RQ-4B, continually monitor and spy on the DPRK, seriously violating its sovereignty and security.

The DPRK cannot remain indifferent to such dangerous acts of hostility that cross the red line.

The RC-135U aircraft, of which the United States reportedly has only two, are known as strategic reconnaissance aircraft at the national level, tasked with delivering real-time intelligence to the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and other high-ranking officials.

This clearly demonstrates that such espionage activities are organized and conducted under the direction of the highest representatives of the U.S. administration.

The gravity of the situation is further underscored by the variety of military exercises targeting the DPRK, which are being conducted on an unprecedented scale, along with espionage activities.

The United States and its allies conducted approximately 140 war exercises aimed against the DPRK from January to April this year, twice the number compared to the previous year.

The military maneuvers that the U.S. and the Republic of Korea plan to conduct in the second half of this year are larger in scale and extremely provocative and reckless.

Particularly noteworthy is the large joint military exercise called “Ulchi Freedom Shield,” scheduled to begin in August, which includes a simulation of a nuclear operation against the DPRK and a comprehensive check and completion of OPLAN 2022, aimed at conducting preemptive strikes on key DPRK facilities and regions.

In this context, U.S. aerial espionage, historically known for its role as a “trigger” in deteriorating the situation on the Korean Peninsula, is being conducted more frantically than ever before.

It is clear that the intensified preparatory espionage activities targeting key facilities and locations in the DPRK are aimed at something specific.

The situation unequivocally indicates that strengthening defensive capabilities to deter and thwart the reckless maneuvers of the U.S. and its vassal forces is the highest priority that must be pursued with accelerated efforts, necessary to protect sovereignty, security, and national interests.

The Ministry of National Defense of the DPRK has previously made it clear that it will take immediate action if sovereignty, security, and national interests are violated.

The United States and other hostile forces are destined for an unexpected disaster for their bluffing and reckless espionage.
