Located at the foot of the Jong Il Peak, this wooden cabin is the birthplace of Chairman Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people, who was born here on February 16, 1942 (Juche 31).
The cabin preserves relics from his childhood. Near the family home stands a monument with the poem “Shining Star,” written by President Kim Il Sung to mark the 50th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s birth.
Rising behind the cabin is the Jong Il Peak.
