WPK General Secretary Kim Jong Un

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, President of State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

He graduated from Kim Il Sung Military University.

He was elected a member of the WPK Central Committee at the Third Conference of the WPK in September 2010 (Juche 99).

He was elected Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission at the plenary meeting of the WPK in September 2010 (Juche 99).

He was awarded the military rank of General of the Korean People’s Army in September 2010 (Juche 99).

He was appointed Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK in December 2011 (Juche 100).

He was elected First Secretary of the WPK at the Fourth Conference of the WPK in April 2012 (Juche 101).

He was elected a member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and Chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission at the Fourth Conference of the WPK in April 2012 (Juche 101).

He was elected First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission at the Fifth Session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in April 2012 (Juche 101).

He was awarded the title of Marshal of the DPRK in July 2012 (Juche 101).

He was re-elected First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission at the First Session of the 13th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in April 2014 (Juche 103).

He was elected Chairman of the WPK at the Seventh Congress of the WPK in May 2016 (Juche 105).

He was elected a member of the WPK Central Committee, a member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, and Chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission at the Seventh Congress of the WPK in May 2016 (Juche 105).

He was elected President of State Affairs of the DPRK at the Fourth Session of the 13th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in June 2016 (Juche 105).

He was re-elected President of State Affairs of the DPRK at the First Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in April 2019 (Juche 108).

He was elected General Secretary of the WPK at the Eighth Congress of the WPK in January 2021 (Juche 110).

He was elected a member of the WPK Central Committee, a member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, and Chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission at the Eighth Congress of the WPK in January 2021 (Juche 110).
