On the occasion of the holiday of the great victory in the war, an endless stream of people from all over the country, with feelings of boundless respect, flows to the Immortality Hill at the foot of Sokpak Mountain, where the ashes of the fallen heroes of the war rest under the proud national flag of our powerful country and the banner of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Preserving in their hearts the revolutionary spirit of the homeland defenders from the 1950s, who brought immortal glory to heroic Korea and the heroic nation, representatives of the state leadership, commanders of the People’s Army, workers, students of revolutionary schools, representatives of the new generation – youth and students, together with war veterans, visit the Cemetery of the participants of the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland, carrying flowers in their hands.
On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland, in the first half of the day on 26th July, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, Honoured Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Cemetery of the participants of the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland.
An honour guard of KAL was set up at the Cemetery of the participants of the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland.
Comrade Kim Jong Un, recalling with warm feelings the immortal spirit of heroism and the costly sacrifices made by the generation of war victors, who gave their youth and even their lives for the great and sacred Motherland, laid a flower at the Cemetery of the participants of the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland and paid deep tribute to the fallen patriots.
In honour of the memory of the participants of the Great War for the Liberation of the Homeland, honour salutes were fired.
Comrade Kim Jong Un, together with war veterans, toured the Cemetery.
With deep emotion, he said: “The first defenders of our Republic, who created the miracle of 27th July, were fiery revolutionaries with noble ideals and magnificent hopes. They were true heroes and sincere patriots, who created with the price of their hot blood the legendary history of resistance, which the world watches with admiration, and opened the bright future of our revolution.”
Thanks to the immortal 27th July, recorded in the chronicles of history by the great generation of war victors, who gave everything precious, today’s socialist Korea exists, renowned as the most worthy, independent, and invincible powerful state, he emphasized. And he continued: “When the spirit of defending the Homeland, the spirit of defending the revolution by the generation of war victors, continues unchangingly, considering it as an unyielding force belonging to our state and our nation, the socialism of our kind will forever triumph.”
Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the reliable safeguarding of our ideas and system, acquired by the generation of war victors at the cost of blood, and the construction on native soil, where the noble spirit of ancestors is stored, of a terrestrial paradise for the eternal happiness of future generations, is the holy mission and the main duty of our generation. He also expressed his firm determination to continue the history of the Republic – a powerful state that will be famous on the path of great inheritance and prosperity.
Participants, with a sense of seriousness, while touring the Cemetery, laid flowers on the graves of the fallen patriots, swearing unchangingly to continue the noble spirit of the heroes, who, in the days of fierce war, when the fate of the state was decided, advanced to victory in decisive battles with cries of “Long live the Leader”, “Long live the homeland”, and laid the foundation for our Republic, unwavering in every stormy history.
In tribute to the deep respect for the victors of the great years and the manifestation of the unyielding fighting spirit of their successors, ready to continue the history of the victory of Juche Korea for eternity, honour salutes rang out in the July sky, shaking heaven and earth.
Thanks to the great Comrade Kim Jong Un – the absolute force and banner of all victories of our powerful state – the heroic spirit of the generation of war victors will be unchangingly inherited from generation to generation, and victory will forever shine in the history of Korea as its eternal symbol.
